He said 'Mum'

Today I'm linking up with ' Magic Moments' over at The Oliver's Madhouse

'Mum'

I had a truly magic moment on Friday evening. The three of us were sitting at the table after dinner. Eliot was babbling 'dada', 'baba' which he has been doing for weeks. Of course for sometime I have been babbling at him 'mum', 'mama'. So I did it on Friday and couldn't believe it when Eliot was able to copy me and said 'Mum'. The OH and I looked at each other in disbelief, I was glad he was there to hear it too as I probably wouldn't have believed it!
I'm sure I won't hear it again for a while but it was a magic moment I shall remember forever!

The Big 'M'

From crib to cotbed...

Last night was the big 'Move'. Moving Eliot from his crib in our room to a cotbed in his very own room. I knew it had to be done as he was too big for his crib but the thought of moving him out of our room was daunting. There wasn't the option of moving the cotbed into our room as there isn't any space for it.

Last night wasn't planned, there's been talk of the move for a while but I just decided on a whim that yesterday was the day. If you follow me on Instagram you may have seen the video clip of him testing out his new bed prior to bed time.

We did the bbb (bath, bottle, bed) routine as usual, except for feeding him in his own room, that was new. Eliot was almost asleep when I put him down but his eyes shot open when I did. I expected some sort of protest but nothing. He went off to sleep very happily and slept right through until this morning. I actually felt remarkably calm and not as sad as I expected. But after all he isn't going to stay a baby for long and this is just one of the milestones he has experienced.

So our first night from crib to cotbed was a success, fingers crossed for tonight :)

How did/do you feel about the transition from parents room to own room?

Milestone alert...First Tooth!

Last Wednesday I was messaging another mummy blogger about blog templates and how her little boy was getting on with weaning, she also asked if they were any signs of teething with Eliot. 'Hes dribbling, chomping and being grisly but no teeth yet' was along the lines of my response.

The following day  Eliot and I were playing when he decided chomping on my hand would be more fun. That's when I felt something sharp graze across my skin. Was this what I thought it was? After some more feeling and determination at getting a glimpse, I saw it, my lil man's first tooth had cut through! I felt so excited and proud but also sad that he's growing so quickly. He is fond of covering his gum with his tongue so it's hard to get a good look.
Not allowing a tooth pic!
